Moon to look bigger next weekend during ‘lunar perigee’

Another article discussing the upcoming full moon perigee….
As I’ve stated in the previous moon article: Perigees and Apogees happen once a month, the uniqueness of this perigee is its closeness to the earth.

The moon will appear bigger next weekend as it makes its closest approach to earth for 19 years during an event known as a “lunar perigee”.

And this

Previous “supermoons” occured around the time natural disasters - including the 2004 Boxing Day tsunami and Cyclone Tracy which devastated the Australian city of Darwin in 1974 - but scientists say there is no evidence to suggest the phenomenon is a sign of impending doom.

The wording in this article is questionable in my view and, very subjective, with the use of phrases like “impending doom” etc.

All that I can say here is that the moon DOES influence the weather! It does so by pulling the atmosphere of the earth underneath it as it goes by.  The closer it is , the more the pull. There are people who do predicting of the weather via the moon, as well as planets in our solar system with a 70+% accuracy . This type of predicting the weather is called astro-meteorology or astro-weather.
