X marks the spot!

May 8th, 2008

For the past couple of days I’ve noticed contrails (condensation trails that airplanes make when flying in the colder air above) that looked like “clouds” that created a giant X in the sky overhead (Vienna). I’ve taken a picture with my cell phone of the ones I saw yesterday around the same time as today around 10:00 am. The reason I mention this is because I really wonder what they are because they hang around for at least a couple of hours and travel as an X through the sky?  X marks the spot? I watched the sky yesterday and today, as I have done in the past when I saw these things. I tried to see other airplanes flying that made these same contrails to compare them and see how cold it is up there but the contrails of these airplanes I see dissipate almost right away or a few minutes later. Another thing is  that these contrails don’t match the flight patterns of the airplanes when they fly overhead. I’ve taken quite a few pictures of these “contrails” and being a hobby meteorologist, I am puzzled as to what these things are.  They don’t fit the wind patterns or cloud patterns whenever they appear. So, what are they? Chemtrails?

Adding insult to injury: Bush says starving India eats too much

May 8th, 2008

I’ve always liked India, respected its people and cultures.  I remeber my mother telling me to eat my food because there are starving children in India who have no food like I did.  link…

Birds can ’see’ the Earth’s magnetic field

May 7th, 2008

It has been debated for nearly four decades but no one has yet been able to prove it is chemically possible. Now good evidence suggests that birds can actually “see” the lines of the Earth’s magnetic field. link…

Bludorf and Fosner

May 5th, 2008

This website by the published authors Bludorf and Fosner, has some very  interesting thoughts and observations concerning EM.  I had the fortune of finding a book written by them in the public library: “Im Netz der Frequenzen - Elektromagnetische Strahlung, Gesundheit und Umwelt. Was man darüber wissen muss” (In the Frequency Network - Electricmagnetic radiation, Health, and Environment. What one should know about them.)
The pages are in German and English. Here’s the Link…

Photos of Hiroshima

May 4th, 2008

The Robert L. Capp collection at the Hoover Institution Archives contains ten never-before-published photographs illustrating the immediate aftermath of the Hiroshima bombing. These photographs, taken by an unknown Japanese photographer, were found in 1945 among rolls of undeveloped film in a cave outside Hiroshima by U.S. serviceman Robert L. Capp, who was attached to the occupation forces. Unlike most photos of the Hiroshima bombing, these dramatically convey the human as well as material destruction unleashed by the atomic bomb.   Here’s the Link…
